One of our corporate commandments is “Fun and Enthusiasm” – our restaurants must be a fun place to go and a fun place to work. Tom Stevens, General Manager at the Medina Pizza Hut, strives for this on a daily basis. Tom says that finding the right employees, cross-training them, and giving them a good, fun, stable place to work is what makes him successful in his restaurant.

Tom graduated from Muskingum University in 2000 with Bachelor’s degrees in both English and Political Science.

Tom was hired in 2001 as a Delivery Driver, then he was transferred and promoted to Hourly Assistant Manager, eventually working his way up to Salaried Assistant Manager and then General Manager. He transferred to the Wadsworth Pizza Hut in January of 2010.

Tom decided to join Pizza Hut because it seemed like a solid, stable company. Plus, he wanted to work for the best pizza company there is!!! He loves his job because he gets to work with a lot of great people. He also likes being able to compete against other pizza places and other Pizza Huts within the company, too.

Tom describes himself as competitive, non-compromising, and humorous – he always tries to have a good time no matter what he is doing.

Tom has several role models, including Chuck Adams, his District Manager. Tom says that Chuck always puts a positive spin on things, is very likeable, has a great attitude, and he treats people fairly. Tom also looks up to Ronald Reagan because he was a strong and powerful man, everybody loved him, he made really good decisions, and he never backed down.

Tom’s goals for 2010 include finishing on top in his area – and as high as possible in the entire company. He also would like to hit all goals – especially sales – he wants to have the highest sales that the Wadsworth Pizza Hut has ever had. To help achieve these goals, Tom and his team are aggressively marketing delivery, even starting a delivery rewards program.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife of five years, Alaina, and their children – Branden (7), Amelia (6) and Ivey (4). He also likes to play soccer, coach his kids’ soccer teams, and play fantasy football.

Chuck Adams says, “Tom is a fantastic manager. He is willing to do what it takes to succeed. He is always eager to help me out, he is always willing to try new things for me, and he has a very positive attitude and great work ethic. Tom is goal-oriented and he has the passion to succeed at whatever he does.”

Within the next 10 years, Tom would like to be promoted to a District Manager, and he would like to continue running successful restaurants and doing all he can to help the company.

Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to Pizza Hut, Tom!
